The Dickinson
Research Extension Center (DREC)
uses innovative approaches to find solutions to agricultural
and resource problems. Current work at the Center focuses on:
grass production, rangeland management, weather influences
on dryland agriculture, beef genetics, nutrition, management
and disease control, swine genetics, nutrition, management
and disease control, crop rotations and variety testing, and
testing and demonstrations of lawn, vegetable crops, ornamental
annual and perennial plants as well as trees. The annual report
as well as published reports from research scientists and extension
staff are displayed on the Dickinson
Research Extension Center web page. DREC is part of the
North Dakota State University system.

Dakota Agricultural Weather Network
"Your Backyard Weather Station" A network of 49
stations monitor weather conditions continuously and provide
hourly and daily summaries. Information provided can help answer
questions such as: Is the soil temperature low enough for fall
application of fertilizer and herbicides? Or warm enough to plant
wheat, pea, sunflower, corn .....? Or did weather conditions
contribute to spray drift? Provides climate information that
other weather services dont.
